Submission & Awards

Nature Contest is the world’s biggest academic contest of revolutionary ideas inspired from nature. Like academic journals, Nature Contest too, is peer-reviewed and not-for-profit event. A minimum participation fee is charged to cover all processing costs. All participants receive global acknowledgement and two winners become permanent laureates each year.

There are two categories of Nature Contest. You can participate either through “writing an essay” or through “preparing a design proposal”.

Participants of Essay Category may examine the relationship between nature and technology, nature and city, and nature and politics etc. to state a few. Participants of Design Category may explore ideas which redefine our world through the implementation of novel technologies, materials and products etc. Participants may take into consideration the advances in biology, technology, urban studies, and establishment of new policy and design methods to solve economic, social, and cultural problems of the world.

Requirements for Essay Category

In writing category, we are looking for big ideas which are either inspired from nature or which aspire to preserve nature. These ideas should be articulated in the form of a “short essay” not exceeding 1500 words. Remember Mark Twain’s famous confession that he wrote a long letter because he didn’t have time to write a short one? We are looking for short and dense pieces of powerful ideas. You are open to choose any topic. Some potential target areas could be cities, politics, sustainability, inter-planetary travel, policy, ethics, technology etc. We encourage you to write about anything with force as long as it has an angle to nature. Authors must mention their names under the title of the essay.

The file should be saved in PDF format and named after the Title of the essay.

Requirements for Design Category

In the design category, we are looking for big design solutions which are either inspired from nature or which aspire to preserve nature. Drawings and visuals along with their description, should be laid out on A1 size art board. There is no additional document required for the project description. Everything should be present on the board. Participants must mention their names on the art boards under the title of their projects.

The file should be saved in PDF format and named after the Title of the project.

Upon completion of your essay or design project, please take the following steps for successful submission of your entry:

1. Attach PDF file of your submission entry to an email.
2. Attach a receipt, screenshot or other proof of payment of registration fee to the email.
3. Make the “Subject” of your email “ENTRY“.
4. Send the email along with the above attachments at
